Situated in the Shijingshan district (west side of Beijing), Shougang is a former steel factory and one of the biggest industrial sites of the city region. Its rehabilitation project hosts the Beijing Olympic Organization Committee, as well as the Big Air Venue. Moreover, Shougang is expected to be a leisure park specialized in business, new technologies, and e-sports. This soon-to-be urban hotspot intends to be a model of sustainability and re-use.

With its cooling towers, furnaces and pipelines, Shougang offers a very particular aesthetic of industrial heritage. Along the Yongding River, the idea is also to develop a scenic space using landscape resources, fitting the ecological green belt strategy for Beijing.
