Xian Lu is in a joint Phd programme in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino and Tsinghua University, and a junior fellow in China Room research center of the DAD and DIST departments of the Politecnico di Torino. Trained as an architect in Italy at University of Ferrara, her research focuses on transnational architectural models in a globalized world, especially cultural and industrial heritage in urban regeneration and emerging architectural typologies and models in China.
She received her Bachelor and Master degree in Italy in Architecture and Engineering from the University of Ferrara. Her master’s dissertation discusses the urban transformation through curatorial practices in China with a venue design for The Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen). She worked as head of international affairs for the Guangdong Decoration Industry Association and as assistant curator for the “Eyes of the city” curatorial team in the 2019 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen).
