The kick-off meeting for this project was organised on December 9, 2020, with the participation of the EPFL team members, Florence Graezer Bideau, Thierry Theurillat, Helena Roux & Zhang Mengke, as well as all the partners, including Zhang Li (Brian) from Tsinghua University, Michele Bonino from PoliTO, Christian Schmid from ETH Zurich, Wu Fulong from University College London, and Antonie Angerer & Anna-Viktoria Eschbach from the NGO Beijing2022.

During the meeting, we gave a short presentation of the project to the partners, and then we had a roundtable discussion regarding the general framework of the research project, administrative and work organisation issues, as well as the next steps of what we will be doing in 2021 and 2022. All the partners agreed that we will have a solid research collaboration related to this project, along with the organisation of academic workshops, exhibitions, public talks, and a conference that will be held in Lausanne in 2023.
